UNITED WAY OF UTAH COUNTY

We are so excited to host our fourth annual Utah County Read-Along! Did you know that over 5,000 early grade elementary school students in Utah County aren’t reading at grade level? There are lots of reasons why children struggle with reading, and most of them don’t have easy answers. But there is one barrier many struggling readers face that we can easily help remove: lack of access to books. Help us reach our goal of raising 250 books for local kids by reading!

All you have to do is set aside 15 minutes of time on June 12th or 13th. During that time, read aloud to someone else! You can read anything to anyone: picture books to your kids, comic books to your sister, newspapers to your parents. You can even read to your roommates or friends! Once you’ve finished reading, report your time below. For each 15 minutes of time you report, you’ll be entered to win one of our fun prize packages! If you include a photo of your reading experience in your time report, you’ll receive an extra entry into our prize drawing.

For each hour that we read, one book will be donated to children at Mountainland Head Start, so we want to read as long as we can! After all, these days are some of the longest of the year–why not spend some of those extra daylight hours reading for a good cause?
