Children should be able to write short sentences and read very simple stories to participate in this group.

Over 10 weeks, you’ll get to know how to set up a computer, type, use email, search online, and work with Google tools like Google Meet, Google Slides, Google Calendar, Google Maps, and Google Docs. Each class is 1 hour long, and it’s important to come to every class. You need to finish all the classes to join our Adopt-a-Computer program.

Students will be introduced to the art and will have the opportunity to learn a complete hand form. Students will develop Tai Chi in wooden sword form which will be provided during the semester by the Center. Classes will include warmups, forms teaching, and closing forms.

Children are encouraged to sign up who need some extra support with language and literacy. We use hands-on activities, including science experiments and building/creating projects, to work on skills needed for reading and writing. A brief assessment will be completed at the beginning and end of the group to measure progress and make recommendations for continuing to support literacy skills at home. Children should be able to write short sentences and read very simple stories to participate in this group.
