United Way Day of Caring
United Way Day of Caring is an opportunity to improve the community through service. After breakfast at BYU's LaVell Edwards Stadium, groups of volunteers provide service at various schools, nonprofit organizations and homes throughout Utah County. Service projects include reading and applying math skills with elementary students, painting playground games, landscaping, repairing and cleaning.
In 2012, approximately 1,400 volunteers participated in Day of Caring and helped provide service throughout Utah County. There were 37 different businesses and organizations involved, with 39 different projects organized around the county. United Way estimated more than 6,000 hours of service donated for Day of Caring.
